Cardano ($ADA) Logo Appears on a Car Taking Part in a NASCAR Race in Virginia

Recently, a race car driven by Trent Barnes took part in a NASCAR event held on the Dominion Raceway in Thornburg, Virginia.

What made the car standout was that it featured large decals on the sides and in the front that featured the Cardano name and logo.

The event, which took place on July 30, was the “Blake Morris Memorial Twin 72’s” race. This race is part of the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series (formerly known as the Whelen All-American Series, Winston Racing Series, and the Dodge Weekly Series), which is a “points championship for NASCAR sanctioned local short track motor racing around the United States and Canada.”

The idea of promoting Cardano in this way came from a stake pool operator (SPO), who posted the following tweet on June 29:

#Cardano Race Team
Paint Scheme Design Competition!!#TheFinalFour will be picked by the beloved @Crypto_Fairies!
Prizes will be handed out to 10 competitors. #NASCAR #shorttrack @TrentBarnes_1

NASCAR driver Trent Barnes tweeted about the final design for the final decal design/layout on July 26, i.e. four days before the race.

Yesterday, Barnes, once again, engaged with the crypto community by asking them what they think of how his race car looks these days:

This @Cardano was a rocket last weekend, some tough luck just didn’t go our way ending our day. Who’s likes the new scheme? #Cardano pic.twitter.com/MfB6lugAyP

Earlier today, Charles Hoskinson, Founder and CEO of Input Output Global (“IOG”), the blockchain firm responsible for the research and development of the Cardano platform, saw Barnes’ latest tweet and wanted to know who had paid for this sponsorship.

The owner/operator of Bone Pool replied:

Hey @IOHK_Charles .. Yep that’s me.. I’m a pool operator and have worked on this car for years The Barnes family was gracious enough to let Trent blast the name and logo in attempt to find sponsors building on Cardano .
