NFL Team Houston Texans Accepting Bitcoin Payments For Game Suites

Houston Texans, the professional American football team, has now become the latest National Football League (NFL) team to accept Bitcoin as payment for its single-game suites. The club stated that it had already made its first crypto sale after it sold a suite to digital marketing agency EWR Digital.

The development is part of an exclusive partnership with crypto wallet provider BitWallet.

Single game suites are exclusive football viewing spaces within stadiums that accommodate a small number of premium fans who desire to access unique benefits like food and beverages enhanced with a preferred game-day experience.

Houston Texans Partners With BitWallet

The development effort is part of a partnership deal with US-based crypto platform BitWallet. Based on the announcement, the latter has now become the Official Digital Currency Wallet of the Houston Texans.

BitWallet is set to facilitate crypto payments for the game suites and change the proceeds to US dollars for the club. Apart from Bitcoin, Texans fans may have a chance to pay using other cryptos like Litecoin, Ethereum, and Bitcoin Cash because these assets are mainly supported on the BitWallet platform.

John T. Perrone, the company CEO, commented on the development, noting that:

“Digital currency has become a primary means of payment, and by partnering with BitWallet, the Texans are leading the way in the NFL.”

Houston Texans President, Greg Grissom, said:

“We are proud to partner with BitWallet to offer an exciting option for our fans who are looking to enjoy Texans gameday in one of our suites.”

NFL Teams Adopting Crypto

Even though the Houston Texans allegations to be the first NFL team to accept cryptocurrency payments, Nashville-based rival Tennessee Titans announced sometime in April 2022 that it had partnered with digital asset fund UTXO Management to support bitcoin payments, enabling fans to pay for game suites, season tickets, and sponsorship using Bitcoin.

In the meantime, apart from the Texas and Titans, other NFL teams have gained exposure to the crypto sector via exclusive partnerships and sponsorship deals. In April, the Dallas Cowboys were reported to have signed a sponsorship deal with BlockchainCom crypto exchange and wallet services provider, making the exchange the exclusive digital asset partner and sponsor of the NFL team.
