S.Korean metaverse firm Anipen raises US$8 mln in Series C
South Korean metaverse platform Anipen drew investments worth around 11 billion Korean won (US$8.3 million) in its Series C round ahead of its planned initial public offering (IPO) next year.

- The list of investors includes Medici Investment, Ulmus Investment and Korea Development Bank (KDB).
- With the investments, Anipen will expand its metaverse content services and strengthen partnerships with various companies globally.
- Anipen is a deep learning-based metaverse platform developer that specializes in augmented reality (AR), extended reality (XR) and artificial intelligence (AI).
- Its flagship service AnibeaR is a three-dimensional mobile application that allows users to create AR-infused video content using popular children’s animation characters such as Hello Kitty and Teletubbies.
- Last year the metaverse developer attracted investments worth 13 billion won. It plans to close its Series C round after reaching investments of 20 billion won that the company is currently negotiating.
