Shytoshi Kusama Asks Critic Not to Compare Shiba Inu to “Regulated” Crypto Projects That “Scammed Everyone”
SHIB lead developer said Shiba Inu differs from regulated projects that scammed people.
In a recent tweet, the pseudonymous lead developer behind Shiba Inu Shytoshi Kusama slammed an angry SHIB enthusiast for comparing the canine-themed cryptocurrency to other crypto projects.
What Happened?
Recall that many SHIB holders recently expressed disappointment in the Shiba Inu team for misleading them into believing that the much-hyped special countdown was for Shibarium. However, the “special countdown” later turned out to be a website upgrade rather than the much-anticipated Ethereum L2 network launch for Shiba Inu.
The frustration prompted a SHIB enthusiast to compare Shiba Inu to other top projects in the industry. The aggrieved SHIB enthusiast asked the team behind the canine-themed cryptocurrency to level up and run Shiba Inu like a proper business.
“Sadly, I feel this project needs to level up a bit and run like a proper foundation or business. That would mean doxxing the devs and being transparent about building statuses and financials. After the last year in crypto, I can’t bring myself to invest in anything less than that,” the Twitter user said.
Kusama’s Reaction
While other Shiba Inu enthusiasts also made derogatory statements about the leading canine-themed cryptocurrency, the comment caught Kusama’s attention.
Reacting to the comment, Kusama asked the aggrieved SHIB enthusiast not to compare Shiba Inu with regulated projects in the crypto space that ended up scamming investors. Kusama noted that Shiba Inu is different from those malicious crypto projects.
The Shiba Inu lead developer further said the team is currently building with low resources and is also trying to stick with the plan laid by Ryoshi, the pseudonymous SHIB founder.
“You should take your complaints to the other tokens,” Kusama concluded.
And please don’t compare us to doxxed and regulated people who scammed everyone. We are different. We are building with a very low budget and following a plan laid out by Ryoshi. You should take your complaints to the other tokens

Kusama’s comment comes hours after he apologized to the Shiba Inu enthusiasts over the confusion caused by the special countdown. The tweet also comes at a time when over $2 trillion has been wiped off the crypto market following the collapse of Terra and FTX. Although Kusama did not mention any crypto project, it is evident that the Shiba Inu pseudonymous lead developer was indirectly referring to them.
The team behind these collapsed crypto projects – Terra and FTX – have been accused of fraud and criminal activities. While law enforcement agents have arrested FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF), the whereabouts of Terra founder Do Kwon are still unknown.
Recall that Kusama shared his life story in May following the massive price dip investors suffered due to Terra’s collapse. The Shiba Inu lead developer urged people not to contemplate taking their lives following the market collapse, as he believes crypto will always overcome every circumstance.
