General Updates
Ilex launched the POLEMAN Avatar NFT series on the Mega Oasis marketplace, with the series selling out the same day. Each POLEMAN PFP cost 6 NEO, and each Neo N3 wallet was allowed to mint up to three NFTs.
Neo Global Development embarked on the second week of the Decoding Web3 USA Campus Tour, visiting with students and blockchain clubs at the University of Michigan, Northwestern University, and University of Illinois – Champaign-Urbana. Neo News Today is participating in the initiative by offering student grants of US $1,000 – $3,000 for starting projects on the Neo N3 blockchain. The grants will be funded by rewards generated through NNT’s Neo Council position. Applications close on Nov. 30, 2022.
Web3 Italia is hosting its first meetup in Rome on Oct. 20. The event will be the first of its kind since the group received funding through the GrantShares DAO in July. The opening event will provide a basic introduction to the Neo blockchain. Guests will be guided through opening a wallet and performing their first transaction, with 50 GAS tokens to be distributed among attendees.
NudesToken added video support to its meme-to-earn platform, allowing users to upload video-oriented files. The NudesToken team also released platform statistics, noting increased memes created, votes, comments, and total users.
GrantShares proposal *Updated* Renewed iOS SDK (Milestone 1 of 3) was approved and the funding request was executed, while the Neo Blockchain Club at Uganda Christian University proposal expired after remaining unendorsed.
TOTHEMOON airdropped 255 Moon Device NFTs to 104 wallets, the first of seven planned Moon Device NFT airdrop events scheduled to take place between moon phases.
Blockchain Cuties noted that Neo N3 was the game’s top blockchain used, totaling more than 1.2 million transactions.
Developer Updates
Neo SPCC released NeoGo v0.99.4, which brought developer experience improvements aimed at those using it to build or test smart contracts. The update gives the VM CLI access to blockchain state data, including historic states, and new commands for inspecting storage and events. Other new features in the update include address conversion helpers for smart contracts, manifest compliance checking for notifications, and an interop helper that makes it possible to call a contract of a specific version.
NNT Catch Up
NNT released episode 17 of the Smart Economy Podcast, featuring Chris Sowers, founder of Writing-Coaching.com. Sowers is a writing coach who works with professional writers and others looking to take their skills to the next level. Discussion topics included how his side hustle has evolved and grown to coaching more than two dozen writers at a time, how blockchain can be used to reduce friction in remote working and traditional industry, how people in blockchain working for the betterment of society positively changed his perceptions of the technology, and more.
