Chinese Stocks Can Benefit If The Metaverse Takes off, JPMorgan Says
Considering futuristic concepts such as the metaverse, analysts at JPMorgan believe they have uncovered a method for choosing Chinese stock plays. The metaverse, the next version of the internet, is a virtual setting where people can communicate using three-dimensional avatars.
Business World Swept Up By Metaverse
About a year ago, the hype surrounding the metaverse swept up the business world. But in the United States, it isn’t acquiring the pace that businesses such as Facebook had envisioned. The same issues with consumer acceptance exist in China as in the US. The JPMorgan analysts noted that regulatory scrutiny poses a unique challenge to the metaverse development in the Asian nation. In China, consumer adoption issues are similar to those in the United States. However, the stock experts claimed that some Chinese internet businesses could profit from specific business trends sparked by the growth of the metaverse. Their top picks in the sector are Tencent, NetEase, and Bilibili. Agora, China Mobile, and Sony could be potential winners among Asian non-internet names based on the business’s advantage in the metaverse’s competitive markets like social networks and games. According to JPMorgan’s most bullish projection, the market for online games in China will almost treble, from $44 billion to $131 billion.
Digitalization Of Business And Consumption
«The metaverse will likely double the digital time spent» from the current average of 6.6 hours, the analysts said. Additionally, they anticipate an increase in revenue per internet user for businesses. According to JPMorgan, China’s entire addressable market for corporate services and software in the metaverse will be $27 billion. And the country’s market for digitalizing offline consumption of products and services will be $4 trillion.
