Naver’s Zepeto Metaverse Partners with Thailand’s Telecom Giant True
Thai telecommunications and digital services company True Corporation and Naver Z, the South Korean-based Zepeto metaverse owner, have inked an MOU to expand Thailand’s metaverse ecosystem. True will offer a forward-thinking, online-to-offline experience that can advance Thailand’s soft power in producing metaverse content using Zepeto as a platform.
Zepeto Metaverse Has Millions of Users
No specific financial information about the relationship was provided. Zepeto says it has millions of users and around 500,000 content creators on the platform in Thailand. It illustrates how K-pop material on the platform, such as a partnership with the girl group Blackpink, contributed to its popularity in Thailand. Over 20 million monthly average users (MAU) were announced by Naver Z, a South Korean internet behemoth Naver subsidiary, with over 95% of those users being millennials and members of Generation Z from countries other than South Korea. Meanwhile, as of August, Zepeto has surpassed 20 million global MAUs and collaborated with more than 100 international companies to reach 3 billion cumulative item sales and 5 billion creative content.
ZEPETO Studio
ZEPETO is collaborating with entertainment, fashion, and beauty brands, including BTS, Selena Gomez, Blackpink, and Nmix. Samsung, Hyundai Motor Company, Casetify, and Hyundai Department Store Duty-Free. On ZEPETO, thousands of brands are free to market to Generation Z. Additionally, since its launch in March 2020, the creator platform «ZEPETO STUDIO,» which enables users to make and sell various goods directly, has rapidly extended its ecosystem. Everybody has the chance to make money because more than 7 million producers registered, and more than 175 million goods were sold.
