One of Three Requirements For Vasil Launch Met, As 75% Cardano Blocks Are Now Created by Vasil-friendly Nodes

Cardano developers are making major progress toward launching Vasil on mainnet.

Input Output Global (IOG), the research and development arm of Cardano, has continued to make significant progress toward the launch of the long-awaited upgrade Vasil.

The IOG noted in a statement that it completed one of the major requirements for the Vasil mainnet launch over the weekend. According to the IOG, 75% of Cardano’s mainnet blocks were successfully minted by the chosen Vasil node candidate, node 1.35.3.

“The #Cardano Stake Pool Operators (SPO) community has been busy over the weekend. And we’re delighted to report that more than 75% blocks are now being minted by nodes supporting 1.35.3,” the IOG said in a statement.

Two More Hurdles Left

Following the development, Cardano has completed one out of the three important criteria needed for Vasil mainnet deployment.

Other important criteria necessary for the Vasil mainnet launch include getting approximately 25 cryptocurrency exchanges to upgrade to node 1.35.3.

Additionally, the top 10 Cardano-based decentralized applications (dApps) with the highest total value locked (TVL) will also be required to upgrade to node 1.35.3 on the PreProduction network before Vasil will finally go live.

A reminder:

? 75% of mainnet blocks being created by the final #Vasil node candidate (1.35.3)
?Approx. 25 exchanges upgraded (representing c.80% of ada liquidity)
?Top 10 DApps by TVL confirming they’ve upgraded to 1.35.3 on PreProduction & are ready for mainnet.
