Partnership between Binance and Taiwan law enforcement aims to combat cyber threats

As part of its Global Law Enforcement Training Program, Binance has partnered with Taiwan’s Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) to provide specialized knowledge and support in addressing digital asset-related crime to over 200 law enforcement officers in Taiwan.

This collaboration has enabled Binance to extend its reach in delivering comprehensive training sessions, both in-person and online, with more than fifty sessions conducted throughout the year.

Joining the fight against deception

In a step towards combating cybercrime, Binance organized a comprehensive one-day training program in partnership with Taiwan’s Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) in Taipei on June 8. This collaborative initiative reflects Binance’s dedication to joining forces with law enforcement agencies worldwide to combat illicit activities in the digital asset space.

“As a growing number of people in Taiwan grow an interest in cryptocurrency, it is important that the crypto ecosystem feels safe and comfortable for users. That is why Binance puts substantial resources and effort into safeguarding our platform and strengthening its security, as well as that of the broader crypto ecosystem. We welcome the collaborative efforts of regulators and law enforcement agencies in Taiwan and look forward to similar collaborations in the future.”

The training program, led by Binance’s expert team from the Law Enforcement Training and Investigation department, witnessed the participation of over 200 law enforcement officers, both physically present and attending virtually.

The workshop covered various crucial aspects, including emerging trends in cryptocurrency-related crime, advanced investigation techniques, and real-world case studies showcasing successful collaborations between Binance and law enforcement agencies in the fight against deceptive cyber criminals.

crypto.news has reached out to the Binance team about the impact of this announcement on the industry at large and is still awaiting response.

The war wages on

Despite their efforts to educate users against deception, Binance is still facing a lawsuit involving their alleged “deceitful practices.”

Since Monday, U.S. regulators are currently in a part action against Binance, the largest cryptocurrency exchange globally, and its CEO Changpeng Zhao, accusing them of running a complex scheme involving deceitful practices. The lawsuit adds to the mounting challenges faced by Binance and triggered a significant drop in the price of bitcoin, which reached its lowest point in nearly three months.

Despite initial comments from Binance CEO CZ, the Binance Twitter platform has been focused on their progress in other avenues of the business, including the Global Law Enforcement Training Program and cloud mining products for bitcoin mining.
