The RV Odyssey, one of the world’s most cutting-edge ocean research vessels, would be the subject of this cooperation, according to Polygon, which aims to provide interactive experiences via a governance platform. Through immersive and engaging meetings in the Metaverse, participants can learn more about the cutting-edge research vessel. OCEEF Founder Alex Moukas said,

«Using our Polygon partnership and its carbon-neutral tech as a launchpad, we will be using technology to democratize access to the vessel through multiple Web3 platforms and provide participants with the ability to help decide the vessel’s future itinerary and research.»

To Explore Metaverse And Web3 Capabilities

Through the Metaverse and other Web3 capabilities, the alliance aims to provide participants with the opportunity to actively influence the future course of the ship, conduct research, and even participate in its tasks. Additionally, OCEEF would permit student groups to join their teams for various missions and dives. These possibilities would be presented through NFTs, which would help pay for the initiative. The core team at Polygon pledged in April to achieve carbon neutrality by the end of the year and committed $20 million to climate-related initiatives. Since then, as reported by Polygon, the company has eliminated 104,794 tonnes of greenhouse gases, which is more than the network’s whole historical CO2 debt.
